Hello, and welcome once again to Be the Light Daily. I’m your host Rita Phillips, and today we want to pick up where we left off with our most recent topic: toxic Feminism. In the last episode we ended with the vulgarity of toxic feminism and listened to Ashley Judd discuss how she was a naaaasty woman. She proved that with her diatribe. Let’s go from there.
being vulgar in empowering, Continued
Toxic feminists also seem to believe that they are taking some kind of power they believe men have enjoyed for generations by swearing and being as vulgar as men. This notion has even reached the ranks of our members of congress. Listen to Democrat Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, who recently announced her intention to run for president in 2020, discussing her concern that if members of congress aren’t helping people, they should go home. It’s only 6 seconds folks, so listen carefully. And, by the way, the word she uses is bleeped out. You just hear the first consonant. (Gillibrand audio) That’s right, friends, a sitting senator just dropped the F bomb. People listening to her didn’t gasp and were not appalled. In fact, they cheered it. You have to ask yourself, what’s the world coming to?
She’s not alone, folks. We have a new member of congress from Michigan who is also a Muslim. And she is as loudmouthed and vulgar as Gillibrand. Here she is telling a story to her supporters involving her young son. This is Representative Rashida Tlaib speaking. (Tlaib audio) Yep, you heard right. She not only told the crowd she was hoping to be part of a congress that was going to impeach the President whom she refers to as a motherf—er, in her retelling of the story, she explains that that’s what she had said to her son. I don’t know much about the Muslim faith, but I would guess that there is a certain expectation for cleanliness of speech. After all, why is so important for Muslim women to dress modestly if when they speak they spew out vulgar and crass language. It just doesn’t make sense.
Let’s see what God’s word has to say on the topic. Ephesians reminds us to “Let no unwholesome word proceed from you mouth, but only such a word as is good for edification according to the need of the moment, so that it will give grace to those who hear.” Moreover, Exodus 20:7 states, “You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain, for the Lord will not leave him unpunished who takes His name in vain.” And finally, Matthew 12 weighs in with this, “But I tell you that every careless word that people speak, they shall give an accounting for it in the day of judgment. For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned.” I think that’s quite clear. God will hold us accountable on judgment day for the words we have used. That’s enough for me. How about you?
the truly ridiculous
Let’s switch gears now. Has anyone noticed how toxic feminism has entered the realm of the truly ridiculous? I have a son who works in the IT department at a university on the west coast. He has to keep his mouth shut most of the time and keep his thoughts to himself, but he sends me images of things he sees on campus, and we discuss the inanity of some issues near and dear to the Women’s Studies department at the university. One such issue is fat pride and the hope for a fat uprising by all, shall we say, women of considerable girth. You might have noticed lately the trend to see plus sized female models gracing the covers of notable fashion magazines. I’m not a man and would not dare to speak for them, but I can’t believe most men would find these images appealing. But, that’s the idea, isn’t it? Feminists don’t want to appeal to men. They actually hate men.
Another absurd feminist idea is that air conditioning in offices is sexist. I don’t even know where to begin. An inanimate object does not have feelings or intellect, thus it cannot be sexist. But let’s listen to writer Radhika Sanghani try to argue the point. (Air conditioning audio here) You know folks, I and some of my friends have experienced work situations where the air conditioning is quite cold. But, as thinking and rational human beings, we all brought in our own mini heaters to put near our feet under our desks. Problem solved. There are so many serious problems facing our country and the world, yet feminists focus on the absolutely laughable issue of sexist air conditioning. It’s easy to see why so many people dismiss feminism.
On another note, I believe it was Rush Limbaugh who said, “Liberals achieve the exact opposite of their intended desire.” That is so true, and one fine example is their embrace of the transgender movement. In 1972, Title IX was passed which basically said that schools receiving federal funds could not discriminate in any way regarding gender. I was a sophomore in high school at the time and thought it was great. There previously had only been two sports for girls at my high school: track and gymnastics. A year or so after the passage of Title IX, basketball and volleyball were also made available. And, when I went to college, a whole smorgasbord of sports awaited me. I was thrilled and participated in many.
Fast forward to the new millenia and the secular world’s obsession with and embrace of transgenderism. The feminist movement along with all their marches and protests not only have entwined their issues with that of transgenders, they have featured their struggles as women’s struggles. “So what?” you might ask. Well, here’s the thing. Now, male teens and young men who identify as or who are transitioning into females are allowed to compete in women’s sports. The outcome? Not surprisingly, due to their muscle mass and testosterone levels, they are winning the events and relegating real girls and women to second, third, and fourth places. Is this what women really wanted? Is this what most women truly want today? I don’t claim to speak for all women, but I can guess that most are dismayed by this turn of events.
As always, it’s important to check in with our human instruction manual, the Bible. Genesis 1:27 clearly states, “…in the image of God he created them; male and female he created them.” There are only two sexes biologically speaking, not a continuum of genders as activists are now promoting. I don’t believe the Bible mentions transgenderism at all, but it does condemn homosexuality quite explicitly. We find that clearly in 1 Corinthians 6 which states, “Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor people who practice homosexuality…will inherit the kingdom of God.” And finally, Deuteronomy 22 warns, “A woman shall not wear a man’s garment, nor shall a man put on a woman’s cloak, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God.”
So, what can we infer? We do not know definitively through science whether or not a transgender’s brain is wired differently than others, but we do know that psychopaths and sociopaths have brains “with severely weakened impulse control.” Does that mean we celebrate their often murderous crimes? Absolutely not. All humans are prone to sin of some kind. For some of us, it is gluttony. For others, addiction to alcohol or drugs. And, for yet others, sexual addiction is a very real impulse. But, we can fight these impulses and addictions, also known as sin, through the power of the blood of our Lord Jesus Christ and through his ever present Spirit who fills us with his fruit, one example of which is self-control.
an exclusive club
All right. We’ve covered a lot. What else can we say about toxic feminism? Well, it’s a very exclusive club. It doesn’t include all women. They don’t want you if you are a conservative, a Christian, a pro-lifer, or, more recently, a Jew. If you fit into any of these categories, they don’t view you as a real woman because your ideology does not match theirs. Conservatives and Christians tend to be pro-lifers, while toxic feminists are pro-abortion on demand. The euphemism they prefer is pro-choice.
And, regarding Jews, feminist march leaders like Linda Sarsour, a Muslim and political activist, have made quite clear their enmity toward Israel and Jews in general. She is a blatant anti-semite, yet feminists have made her the face of their movement in recent years. She gained more notoriety when her name was included in Time magazine’s “100 Most Influential People” in 2017. Illogically, she states that her Muslim religion empowers women. Really? This is a religion that forces women to wear a hijab or burka. Additionally, under Sharia law, a raped woman is guilty of adultery. Sharia law does not even recognize DNA testing. A woman raped must produce three male witnesses, and if she can’t, the accused male’s account of events is accepted without question, and in many parts of the Muslim world the female is stoned to death. Listen to this horrifying account that took place in Somalia in 2008:
“On the 27th of October 2008, a thousand spectators gathered in a stadium in Kismayu, Somalia, to witness a 13-year old girl being stoned to death by a group of more than fifty armed Islamist militia men. Eyewitnesses stated that Aisha Ibrahim Duholow was forced into a hole, buried up to her neck, and then pelted with stones until she died. Amnesty International reported that at one point during the stoning, nurses were instructed to check whether Aisha was still alive. They removed her from the ground, declared that she was, and replaced her in the hole for the stoning to continue.
Aisha was executed for ‘adultery’ but her aunt told the BBC that the teenager had in fact been raped by three armed men and that she took Aisha to the police station to report it. A few days later, after two suspects had been arrested, she was asked to return to the station with her niece; to her surprise the girl was arrested.”
Do any of these toxic feminists know this? If they do, how does this conform with wanting more power for women and their adage that “every woman must be believed” when dealing with sexual assault charges?
hatred of men
As with most subjects, I could go on, but let’s wrap this up. In the end, it seems that toxic feminists have decided that men in our society have too much power, and they are going to wrench it away from them in the most abusive, absurd, and vulgar ways they can. However, real power comes from God as 1st Timothy 1:7 reminds us: For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline. Love and self-discipline are two virtues sorely needed by many of these toxic gals.
It also seems obvious that the feminist movement is one of misandry. It’s not surprising that you might not know this word. It means hatred of, contempt for, and prejudice against men and boys. I believe through all the examples I’ve provided today, this notion is unquestionable. I recognized this misandry at an early age and wanted nothing to do with the feminist movement thereafter.
Here’s an example of misandry in action during the Kavanaugh hearings during which Democrat female senators painted every man with the broad brushstroke of rapist and then tried to silence any man who wanted to speak on the issue. Listen now as Senator Maizie Horono speaks for all toxic feminists. (Hirono audio here) So, if you’re a guy, Senator Horono expects you to shut up and tow the line. Got that?
a needed prayer
It’s time to end as we always do with prayer. This world and our culture desperately needs God’s help.
Heavenly Father, you are the Almighty. You are all powerful, the creator of the world, the universe and everything in it, yet you love us. It is unfathomable that you should do so given our sinful nature, but you do. We thank you for sending your son, Jesus, to die an excruciating death on the cross for our sins. We thank you for his miraculous resurrection which provides us with salvation if we will only accept his free gift of grace and change our ways. Lord, many women in our culture are being deceived by the same serpent that ensnared Eve in the Garden of Eden. We ask for you to pull the scales off their eyes, bring them out of the darkness, and help them to turn to you for their salvation and turn away from their sins. You are mighty and powerful so we ask you to consume the darkness in them and bring them into your light. You intended from the beginning that man and woman should work together in harmony and peace, not strife and bitterness. Thank you for the miracle I know you will produce in these women’s lives. We pray all these things, in Jesus’ name. Amen.
